Dura Supreme's freestanding kitchen island tables can be designed with any of our 15, exclusive turned posts designs.
Turned Post Designs
In addition to our island table program, many homeowners and designers choose to create an island using a combination of cabinetry. An island not only helps to separate the kitchen space from the living space within an open floor plan, but it adds much needed storage and countertop space. The island can also be an ideal location for appliances (microwave, undercounter refrigerator, cooktop, etc.) or even an additional prep sink. As a general rule, island cabinetry should be planned with at least 36" of space across from a wall, and at least 42" of space across from cabinetry (more space may be needed if there are appliances or swinging doors). Your kitchen designer will have the expertise to design within your specific building codes to create a kitchen that works well for you.
