When my clients first approached me at our Dura Supreme Showroom, KSI Kitchen & Bath in Macomb, Michigan, about remodeling their home, they didn’t just want an update—they wanted a reset. After years of living with dark floors, ornate moldings, and glazed cabinetry, the space no longer reflected who they were or how they lived.

The exterior of the house.

The home exterior.

They envisioned something completely different: light, openness, and simplicity. A home that felt calm, clean, and modern—yet still warm and welcoming.

What followed was a journey of transformation—one that touched nearly every room in the house, brought clarity to their style, and created a sense of connection from space to space.

A Vision That Ties It All Together

This was more than a kitchen remodel. From the family room to the dining area, home office, and even a new basement kitchen, every space was intentionally designed to feel part of a unified whole—without becoming repetitive.

Each room carries its own personality, but they all speak the same language: clean lines, timeless finishes, and functional elegance.

Cabinetry That Elevates Every Room

We leaned heavily into the Bria frameless cabinetry line from Dura Supreme throughout the home. It’s a favorite of mine for its tight reveals and clean aesthetic. We used the Reese thin rail shaker door style in multiple finishes across several spaces, which added an elegant, contemporary touch.

A Kitchen That Anchors the Home

In the heart of the home, we designed a kitchen that feels effortlessly balanced. A soft, natural wood stain on the kitchen island and built-in hutch adds warmth and grounding, while light-painted cabinetry around the perimeter keeps the space bright and airy.

The glass accent doors on the hutch area feature Dura Supreme’s Aluminum Frame Door Style #1 in the “Onyx” matte black metal finish.

One of the standout features is the custom range hood—a striking “Onyx” black stained finish, framed with sconces and anchored by a quartz ledge. It’s bold but refined, and it immediately draws your eye without overwhelming the room.

The lighting played a huge role in tying everything together, from pendants over the island to sconces above the sink and the hood.

In the family room, we carried the “Onyx” stained finish on Maple from the kitchen wood hood to the base cabinetry with the Parker door style, flanking the fireplace, and paired it with “Canvas” painted shelves. The stone fireplace surround echoed the kitchen’s quartz tones, tying the two spaces together beautifully.

A Home Built with Hosting In Mind

Just downstairs, we created a second kitchen designed for entertaining. With clean-lined Quarter-Sawn White Oak cabinetry, integrated appliances, and a palette that feels both modern and relaxed, it is the perfect place for guests to gather.

Spaces That Support the Way They Live

The Dining Room

Upstairs, the dining room balances elegance with simplicity. A herringbone feature wall adds subtle texture, while light-toned cabinetry keeps things cohesive with the kitchen just steps away.

We chose the Reese door style in the “Canvas” paint, echoing the kitchen while complementing the light herringbone accent wall.

The Home Office

In the home office, we took a bolder approach – cabinetry using the Hudson door style in “Cyberspace” paint finish, bringing focus and sophistication to the space where work happens. It feels grounded, personal, and strong.

The home office features Dura Supreme’s Hudson door style in the “Cyberspace” Curated Color.

A Trusted Partnership for Seamless Results

This project was a true team effort, and I was grateful to collaborate with Avripas Construction, whose attention to detail helped bring the vision to life. Every detail—from layout to lighting—was handled with care, and the end result was a remodel that not only looks beautiful but feels effortless for the family who lives there.

More Than a Remodel

This wasn’t just a makeover—it was a reimagining of how this family lives.

Every decision was about more than aesthetics; it was about creating a home that supports their life with beauty and intention. What we created together isn’t just stylish—it’s deeply personal, functional, and enduring.
