With no end in sight to painted cabinetry’s popularity across the board, it seems like a good time to talk about color palettes, finishing processes, and where trends are headed. Dura Supreme is way ahead of the curve on this. We’ve always offered a great selection of in-house paint finishes, as well as our Personal Paint Match Program and our Custom Color Program. But today I am going to focus in on our Curated Color Collection.

Pulling research from customer demand and future color forecasting we look for strong trends and create our current Curated Color Palette, consisting of the 5-6 highest trending colors in the industry. This Curated Color collection will evolve every couple of years, staying fresh and current, shifting with prevalent trends. Here I will introduce our six Curated Colors, some carried over from previous collections, and a new offering as well, while showing some great door styles for pairing. I will also touch on our superior finishing processes.

Trendy cabinet paint colors that will be long-term classic colors.

Greens have been strongly trending and as a result, we have added a new green to this color category in our Curated palette. Homeowners have been wanting a more organic, nature-inspired vibe to be reflected in their interior spaces, effectively bringing the outdoors inside. Greens paired with tonal whites and true browns are the perfect recipe for achieving this aesthetic.

Evergreen Fog

Evergreen Fog was recently announced as Sherwin-Williams’ Color of the Year, and the demand for it as a finish on cabinetry has soared ever since. It is a subtle green, with a mossy, warm gray undertone. It pairs well with every true brown stain we offer- from Coriander to Caraway.

Cast Iron

Cast Iron, shown in a home office design below, is a modern, fresh take on olive green. It looks great with the light Alabaster stain on Quarter-sawn White Oak, as in the photos below, almost a continuation of the greens out the window in this light-filled space. Lots of opportunities here.

Rock Bottom

Rock Bottom is a deep, rich, earthy green. It is a great accent color when paired with light to medium-stained woods. Below is a kitchen done completely in Rock Bottom, and notice how both light and dark stains complement this kitchen. What a beautiful, warm, rich finish. It is a great choice if you want to make a statement without the drama of black.

No designer can talk about color these days without talking about blue; it is wildly popular across the country. There are so many shades and directions one can go with this hue: from nautical to muddy to ethereal. Not to worry, Dura Supreme has three unique blue paint colors to save you from swimming in a sea of blue color chips!

Gale Force

Gale Force is the truest blue in our Curated Palette, capable of lending a nautical vibe when needed. It looks great opposite medium brown stains and accents.

Cyberspace

Cyberspace is a moodier blue that embraces dark gray, almost black undertones. In the right environment, it can almost act like a neutral, going undercover as a very complex gray! Because of this chameleon-like quality, it pairs well with lots of styles, looking great as a kitchen island, as shiplap on a wall, or in a stylish mudroom.

Software

Software is the third blue paint color in this collection, although it can also be classified under gray. It has a stormy blue undertone and can serve as an anchor in an all-white space, or lighten up a design that has a lot of dark woods.

The benefits of Dura Supreme curating this custom palette for our customers are threefold.

  1. It saves the homeowner time. Why spend hours weeding through color chips trying to find the perfect blue or green hue when we’ve already done the leg work for you? Also, the homeowner avoids the lag time of having a Color Match paint chip created and mailed to them for approval, saving 8-10 days.
  2. It saves the homeowner money since there is no Custom Color Match fee to create the paint. The color is already in the house!
  3. The homeowner is assured of having a finish that has been vetted by color experts in the industry, able to stand the test of time yet still be on-trend. When a color is retired from our Curated Collection, it is still easily available as part of our Personal Paint Match program.

Dura Supreme’s finish processes are second to none.  From the formulation of our paint to our application and production processes and our environmental responsibility, we have put together a product we are very proud to stand behind.

With the introduction of our updated Curated Color Palette, all the more reason to look to Dura Supreme for inspiration for your next project!
