What is a pantry? The kitchen pantry is a core feature of any kitchen. It’s the functional hub where your collection of dry foods, goods, kitchen supplies, dishware, and sometimes small appliances are stored. A pantry can be as small as a single cabinet or as big as its own room. It’s important for the pantry to be organized, functional, and beautiful as well as customized to suit the needs of the homeowner.
In today’s blog, we will explore some of my favorite organized pantry spaces!
Pantries with an All-In-One Kitchen Workstation
I don’t know about you, but I’m always looking for kitchen storage solutions that help keep my countertops clutter-free but also keep my everyday items close at hand. A pantry can be more than a simple storage locker, it can also be a hardworking center for you to complete an important daily task, like prepare breakfast, make a beverage, or even bake a cake. Here are some ingenious pantry concepts that hide a workstation with small kitchen appliances behind cabinet doors with all the supplies you need nearby to get the job done.
The Baking Center Pantry
This baking center pantry has a flat roll-out shelf for the powered-in-cabinet kitchen aid mixer and all the goodies this baker needs in the apothecary drawers to the side and the roll-out shelves in the cabinet below.
The Breakfast Making Pantry
This breakfast workstation pictured below has all the small appliances for this homeowner’s morning routine in one hidden hub. This larder cabinet stores a coffee maker, multiple toasters, an espresso machine, and a microwave above the counter while the deep drawers below house all the fixings needed to craft breakfast drinks and meals (bread, bagels, coffee, etc.). The pocket doors tuck back into the cabinet for easy access and make it easy to quickly hide the clutter when you’re done.
The Breakfast & Coffee Brewing Pantry
Here is another breakfast pantry work zone that is designed to have everything the homeowner needs for crafting beverages for all occasions as well as a place for preparing breakfast. This beverage larder cabinet houses a powered coffee machine, with coffee cups and wine glasses above and all the supplies for making a wide variety of beverages in the cubbies below. The apothecary drawers below hold stir sticks, tea bags, hot cocoa packets, sugar, sweeteners, and liquid creamer cups.
The base cabinet has a multi-functional two-tier drawer that provides storage for a silverware set and large collections of k-cups and tea bags.
Below the drawer, a cabinet opens up with several roll-outs that have dividers for organized pantry storage and a dedicated place for a powered toaster.
I can see this breakfast pantry being used every morning to prepare breakfast and coffee, but also as a place for grabbing a glass of wine and entertaining guests.
Hidden Walk-in Kitchen Pantries
Get rid of that awkward door in the middle of your kitchen for the walk-in pantry. Designed to coordinate within adjacent tall cabinetry, the pass-through tall cabinet from Dura Supreme Cabinetry is designed to create a seamless, hidden walk-in pantry. This pantry hides behind beautiful cabinet doors slowing more cabinet storage space in the kitchen while also creating a beautiful space that’s not broken up by a door way.
A Pantry Designed for Putting Away the Groceries
A task we all typically dread… carrying in loads of groceries and sorting each item one by one. Why not make this an easier task? This pantry uses a flat roll-out shelf that creates an instant surface to set your groceries on and a convenient area to stand and sort each bag. Include a pantry with a workstation like this near the entry of your kitchen to help make this frequent chore an easy task.
Easy to Access Pull-Out & Roll-Out Pantries
A pantry that contains a large collection of non-perishable foods (i.e. canned goods, pasta, cooking oils, baking supplies, etc.) can be easily managed with a small or large pull-out or roll-out pantry cabinet. Pull-out pantry cabinets neatly store row after row of pantry goods within a narrow space making it easy to see the entire contents of your pantry at a glance. They can also be great in a tight space without much room for a door swing. Finally, this is a great option easing the process of tracking inventory and expiration dates.
A Roll-Out Pantry uses a series of roll-out shelves to make accessing your pantry goods an easier process then reaching into the back of a deep cabinet.
Enviable Butler’s Pantries
A butler’s pantry (a.k.a. a scullery) is a separate room or area divided from the kitchen used for pantry storage, meal prep or staging, and more. Here are three of my favorite Dura Supreme Butler’s pantries for some inspiration.
