Well, top ‘o the mornin’ to ye! Or afternoon, or evening, depending on when you read this. In honor of Saint Patrick’s Day, I thought it befitting to share a design accent that’s been trending again as of late; Gold. In today’s evolving world of kitchen design, gold accents are emerging as a standout trend, infusing spaces with effortless luxury and timeless warmth. Far from flashy or over-the-top, brushed gold hardware, faucets, lighting fixtures, and subtle metallic details are quietly elevating everything from sleek modern layouts to cozy, nature-inspired kitchens. As we move through 2026, designers are embracing these warm metallic touches to soften cooler palettes, add depth and character, and create that perfect balance of sophistication and approachability—turning the heart of the home into a truly inviting, jewel-like retreat.
Remember the brass fixtures of the 1980’s that were prevalent in design? That look didn’t age well and fell out of grace, being replaced with sleek chrome finishes. But not to worry, we are not regressing back to then! The gold finishes being used today have evolved, and the brassy tones have been replaced with true gold finishes in various tones; from brightly polished gold to warm honey or antique golds that bring an old-world look to a room. Brightly Soft Design
The project below is a beautiful example of a soft white kitchen that’s bright but not stark, and has warmth due to the stained cabinets and gold fixtures. The cabinetry paint has a warm tone and plays off the stain on the kitchen island. The gold hardware and fixtures add to the warmth of the room, softening the look and adding a level of richness, making it feel cozy and inviting.

Mixing Styles
The project below combines both traditional and contemporary styles in one home. Both spaces use gold hardware on the cabinets, however, each space is unique; from the cozy corner banquet with gold-tone scones, to the bright and cheery entry with gold coat hooks. Both spaces feel more elevated with the warm, gold accents.

Black and Gold

Going for Gold in Baths
Below are several bathroom projects where gold accents have been used throughout, from hardware to fixtures and even wire mesh inserts, the gold accents elevate each room and add a level of sophistication. They also showcase using gold with traditional, transitional, and contemporary designs.
Moody Gold
Below is a great example of how gold can be used with black to create elevated drama. This stunning primary bath is all sorts of moody, with the gold accents popping off the black painted cabinets featuring our Reese door. The gold used throughout softens the pallet and warms it up as well.

We all know that gold, in whatever form, works well with stains and white paints, and you’ve seen a couple of projects featuring blue and black finishes.
