Remodeling Stories: Updating a Lower-Level Bathroom
This lower level bath, while functional, was in desperate need of an update. For some reason, the previous homeowner had installed a vanity designed for a single bowl and modified the cabinet to fit two sinks. What this did was eliminate most of the drawers, allowing for very little storage.
The plan was to keep the original tile floor but change the lighting, mirror, and vanity. The original vanity was 60” wide, the new vanity was downsized to 48”, which still provides ample storage and counter space, and creates some breathing room in this smaller space.
The Summit door style in Oak with a Morel finish provides a clean and simple look. To add some visual interest horizontal tongue and groove planks were installed on one wall.
To soften all of the straight lines a circular mirror and light fixture with round glass shades were added to the space.
The refresh is complete and gives the room a clean, updated look.
